Magnolia Industrial Group
Magnolia Industrial Group is a Business Improvement District located in Long Beach, CA.
The Magnolia Industrial Group Inc. was started in 1993 by a group of Long Beach property owners who were committed to improving the appearance and safety of their neighborhoods. Working with representatives from the City of Long Beach, they established an assessment district to raise funds necessary for a nighttime security patrol, area beautification and local communications. The Magnolia Industrial Group (MIG) is the first industrial organization in the country to have created an assessment district, and as such is used as a model for other similar organizations.
PBID was re-established in 1999, again in 2003, and most recently in 2013.
Since the initial PBID formation in 1993, the security program has continually reduced crime within the PBID. The MIG has seen crime rates in the area drop drastically, and tenant occupancy rates rise. The organization remains committed to continuing area improvements.
